Growing Up

Born from aboveCraving the milk of the WordThirsty, hungry, crying, pleadingDrawing sustenance from othersGrowing and learning from witnessesTelling what they have seen and heardThe Tutors and the GovernorsThe apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers,All giving sustenance and life.Growing taller, maturing,Cuts, bruises breaks and stainsRunning to Mummy for the plaster and the comfortLearning life's theories from text books and biographiesIncreasing in knowledge and statureThen we begin to become more independentA deep craving calling to be set freeWe struggle and strain, even biting the hand that feeds usThe deep calls to the deep for more
The Father watches our progressSees the growing pains tormenting our livesWatching and waiting guiding the tutorsUntil He appoints the time of completionUntil the time He considers us ready for moreUntil the time He adopts us as sonsUntil the time He gives the key to the doorHe then comes and dwells within usLike a dove, descending on our souls-filling the deep voidThen we are no longer taught by tutorsNo longer trained by governorsThe Holy Ghost, the Anointing is our TeacherTeaching us by experience through the situations of lifeWe then become the witnesses to the next generationTelling the things we have seen and heardNew born babes drawing our experiences from usThe Apostles and prophets, evangelists pastors and teachersTo the Next generation.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14©2007 Stephen Share
